Unshelled local filberts


Roast unshelled local filberts 22-25 minutes in an oven preheated to 325 degrees. Once cooled, shell the filberts and then grind the nutmeat in a blender or food procesor. Store in a re-used jar in the refrigerator.

Pair with a locally made jam on locally baked bread for a low-carbon-footprint sandwich. Serve with fruit in season.
